Re-Evolution Chehuahua Sculpture

One of Juan’s friends made a Chehuahua sculpture and it looks bad ass. Apparently he’s making it in his spare time. I’m pretty amazed how much like the comic it looks. Stay tuned for the gorilla statue coming next! Check it out.

Re-Evolution has become quite popular in Latin America thanks mostly to the marketing efforts of my partner and artist Juan Felipe Salcedo. Forever, Until Victory! Re-Evolution Wins July 2008 Zuda Contest

After a long struggle in this months Zuda contest which included a come from behind in 4th place, Re-Evolution was today declared the winner of the 1st Annual Zuda Invitational of 2008. I would like to thank everyone who supported our comic and believed in Juan and I. Most importantly, I would like to thank our family and friends in Colombia for supporting this great comic. Zuda posted their last update of the competition and Re-Evolution is in first place. Here’s what Dave posted on the blog.

We may be jet-lagged and convention weary, but we must update!

Re-Evolution has jumped again, this time taking the #1 spot and forcing The Mundane Overrated Misadventures of Spudman down to #2!

But that’s not all: Teachers moves from 9th to 8th, passing Untrue Tales!

Comic Con Wrap Up

Comic Con 2008 is over and I’m finally back at home where I can rest my poor throbbing convention feet. I had loads of fun this year hanging out with Tone and Dan at the booth. Had lots of great response from people checking out my comics and Re-Evolution. We’ve reserved the booth for next year so hopefully I will be back in 2009 with more comics to show off!

Re-Evolution hits number 2…here comes #1!

Re-Evolution has hit the number 2 spot today on Zuda.com. I am at Comic Con San Diego promoting my comic New Word Order and also pimpin’ Re-Evolution to anyone I can. Response has been great so far. Everyone who walks by the booth comes over to check out my Chehuahua postcards. I will post a picture of the table setup tomorrow Sat. which is the biggest day of the con. So far it’s been great sharing a space with Tone Rodriguez and Dan Wickline, there’s never a dull moment in our booth.

Juan couldn’t make it out to San Diego because his visa wasn’t approved but he’s been doing a great marketing campaign in Colombian getting on several TV Shows and local newspapers. Here’s a link to an article in Bucaramanga’s Vanguardia.

Comic Con Day 2 Friday – Zuda Campaigning at the Con

The Con really ramped up today with even more people packing in the convention room floor. Was really tired having stayed up till 3am drinking and just up to no good making it hard to even stay awake at times. I got a pleasant surprise in the morning though finding out Re-Evolution moved up in ranking to second place. Can’t tell how far behind we are Spudman but if the initial numbers are an indicator we’re still behind almost 200 votes, perhaps more. Still, it seems our Comic Con Campaigning is working, we’re getting great response from people visiting the booth and Tone even volunteered to do a sketch for a pretty excited fan in return for some votes. We’ll see how we end up by the end of the week, hopefully we can catch up to Spudman and at least give them a run for their money as the contest comes to an end.

Comic Com Day 1: Whew! Made it through.

Well it was a pretty hectic day today. Met lots of cool people and got some nice toys and schwag. Was pretty excited to meet some people I had been talking to on Facebook and the guys from Intrepid Pictures who are interested in optioning Subtle Bodies. Been putting out our feelers on the SB pitch, response so far has been good. Going to take it around officially tomorrow and see what happens. For now, it’s party time!

Comic Con 2008 Countdown

It’s almost here, just one more day until Comic Con and the insanity begins. I’ve been preparing all week and I met with my co-creator of Subtle Bodies Gio today to discuss our plans for the weekend. Did run into a problem today with the printing company who’s doing my stickers, seems they won’t be ready for the con. Just f’ing great, I thought. After chewing out the lady over the phone I immediately felt bad for being an asshole and realized that I better just let it go. I’m still gonna try to see if they can Fed-Ex them to me on Saturday or something. We’ll see what happens, I’m going to stop by their office to pick up the postcard on Wed. on my way out to San Diego.
