So I was randomly searching for comics on the web today and discovered that both Re-Evolution and New World Order are available for purchase online. Totally awesome! I also checked the iphone app but it seems they aren’t in those catalogs yet. I contacted my publishers to get and update on this so I’ll post more information as soon as I get it. Re-Evolution takes Texas by Storm

It’s been about a couple of weeks since I’ve been back from Texas and it’s only until now that I’ve gotten enough time to decompress. I had an amazing time and it was a great show. I couldn’t be more grateful to Patty and everyone at the the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center. Here is a link to some of the photos I took while there. Re-Evolution & the Fantastic Fuerzas

Here’s some great Re-Evolution news. Looks like Chehuahua and his Guerilla Wild will be the center of an art exhibit at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center in San Antonio, Texas this coming Fall 2010. This is a very exciting opportunity for Juan and myself who have both been invited to attend the opening of the show which will be on Thursday Sept. 16th. Additionally, Juan and I will be doing a lecture/talk on Saturday Sept. 18. Juan will be focusing on Latin American comics and I will talking about “Comics in the Digital Age. I can’t even begin to explain how exciting this is for us. First off for having the honor to have Re-Evolution be part of the exhibit and secondly because I’ll be able to re-unite with Juan Felipe who is going to come all the way from Colombia to attend the event and explore Texas with me. What an exciting time it will be!

The image below is a preview of some art Juan has created for the event. The Guadalupe Arts Center will be releasing all the official programs and images soon so stay tuned for information as we get closer to the event.

The future of Re-Evolution and cool new Chehuahua sketch

So it’s been several weeks now that DC officially announced that it would be closing down it’s Zuda comics site and it’s monthly competition. Zuda will be moving to the digital realm now via the iPhone and iPad. I am glad to say that Re-Evolution looks to be on the list to make that transition. At first I thought all Zuda comics would be moving over but while talking with Daniel Govar from Azure I figured out that some creators got a different letter from DC basically telling them that their comics would not continue onto this new venture. Hopefully, we’ll be able to see Re-Evolution’s first issue out soon but until then here’s a sketch of Chehuahua from my friend Chris Zachrinsky.

Chehuahua Supports Immigration Re-Form

Continuing in the spirit of the Re-Evolutionary Chehuahua, Juan and I have created this poster in support of immigration re-form. As you know, this topic has been the subject of much heated debate recently with a controversial law passed in Arizona. When will we realize that borders, papers, walls and visas bring us further apart as inhabitants of this planet in a time where we the need to come together seems to be a much more plausible solution to solving the worlds problems. Chehuahua wouldn’t stand for it and neither should you. Support immigration re-form!

Re-Evolution in Urban Latino Magazine

There hasn’t been much Re-Evolution news in the last 6 months or so but Juan and I still are very dedicated to the project and are going to start to ramp up our renewal campaign starting with this article from Urban Latino Magazine. We are also in the May print edition so if you see this magazine on the news stands check us out.

As part of our campaign we will also be releasing tidbits and images from what Season 2 would look like if it were to get the green light. We hope everyone enjoys these postings and please tell your friends to sign our petition for renewal if you haven’t done so already.

Note: There is an error in this article that states we are the first Latino’s to be published by DC through extension via Zuda. Although we are the first latinos to win the Zuda competition, DC comics has had latino’s working within it’s ranks for years now which should be duly acknowledged. Without those pioneering individuals from latin america who made it into mainstream comics Re-Evolution would not be possible.

Product Marketing and Zuda Feedback

I saw this today while checking my Facebook account, it’s an ad featuring a Chihuahua on the top of the right side of the page.

This makes it very clear to me how a Chehuahua marketing campaign could potentially be greatly successful. Just take a look at the success of Disney’s Beverly Hills Chihuahua movie. They had a huge guerilla marketing campaign with billboards and social media. People for some reason love those frikin’ little dogs and even the people who hate them will probably end up giving in to buyin some kind of Chehuahua merchandise because of their kids or someone they love.

I’m already seeing it now, Chehuahua shirts, Che mugs and of course Chehuahua comics! Well, this is a good inspiration to start the Re-Evolution marketing campaign again. If you haven’t already, please visit the Zuda feedback page and send Zuda an email saying you want more of Re-Evolution. Tell all your friends, family, whoever you know has access to the internet — we need your support. Viva la Re-Evolution!
